Privacy Policy

This covers both tools. It's short on purpose: here's what I collect, why, where it goes, and how to have it deleted.
What I Collect
Only what you type into the form when you ask for your report or your result:
- Your first name and email address.
- When you're hoping to move.
- The neighbourhoods and home type you compared, or your Matchmaker answers and picks.
- Whether you ticked the box for my monthly Lower Mainland market email. It's unticked unless you tick it.
- The link to your report or result.
Looking at the tools without filling in the form collects nothing about you. The report link itself never holds your name or email.
Why I Collect It
- To email you the link to your report or result.
- To follow up with you about your move, if it makes sense, using what you told me so I'm not asking you the same questions twice.
- To send you my monthly market email, only if you ticked the box.
Where It's Stored and Who Sees It
The form is run by Jotform, a form service. Zapier passes your details from Jotform into Lofty, the customer database I use to keep track of the people I'm helping. I see it, and so do those services as they store and move it for me. I don't sell or rent your details to anyone.
Jotform, Zapier and Lofty may store your information outside Canada, where it can be subject to the laws of that country.
Your own browser also keeps a small note of which figures you last saw on a report, so it can mark anything that's changed. That note stays on your device and never comes to me.
Keeping It Safe
I use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, and only the services named above handle it.
How Long I Keep It
I keep your details while we're in touch and for at least 1 year after, then delete them.
Unsubscribing and Withdrawing Consent
Every email has an unsubscribe link, and an unsubscribe takes effect within 10 business days. Asking for your report link doesn't sign you up for anything else.
You can withdraw your consent to follow-up contact at any time by emailing me.
Seeing, Correcting or Deleting Your Details
Email me at alex@realestatehelp.com and I'll tell you what I hold about you, fix anything that's wrong, or delete it. I'll respond within 30 days. You can also write to me at the address below.
Making a Complaint
If you're not happy with how I've handled your information, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for BC at oipc.bc.ca.
